THE NOTEBOOK PROBLEM
A shed notebook is almost always kept well. The problem is what happens afterwards: no one adds it up, no one compares it and no one sees it in time.
And when it is lost, it isn't a page that was lost: it was the only proof of what happened to that batch.
To know whether 1.32% mortality on day 24 is fine, you would have to dig up three old notebooks. No one does.
The shipment goes out, the invoice is forgotten, and the balance shows up already a month overdue.
HOW IT WORKS
Whoever records the data is whoever is in the shed. You only approve and read. It is the only way for data to come in every single day.

What was captured offline waits in a list. Nothing enters the farm until you review it, and you can approve the batch while leaving out one record that doesn't add up.

WORKS WITHOUT SIGNAL
The application was designed knowing that half of the records will be entered without a single signal bar. What is recorded stays on the phone and is sent when the connection comes back. There is nothing to remember.

SECURITY AND BACKUP
When several people record data on the same batch, knowing who did what stops being a technical detail and becomes part of the data itself.
If someone works on two of your farms, they can have different permissions on each one. The field operator doesn't see accounts receivable or prices, and not because the button is hidden: the system doesn't hand them the data.
Who changed what, when and from where. If someone deletes a day's mortality, the data doesn't come back, but the record of who deleted it stays.
Your farm's information doesn't share space with another producer's. No neighbor with a FarmsManager account can reach your numbers.
A full copy of the database is saved every day. And your data can be taken out of the system whenever you want, in a file that opens in Excel.

We are a small software team in Colombia. FarmsManager did not start in an office but on two broiler farms: there we saw that the data from the shed existed, but reached the person who had to decide too late. Every screen was first tested with the people who record and the people who approve on those farms. That is why, when you write to us, we answer ourselves.
